Nancy (Backe) Lieberg passed away on August 26, 2018 at Mayo Health System Eau Claire with her family by her side.

Nancy was born November 26, 1948 to Willard and Frances Backe. She graduated from Regis High School in 1966 and received a teaching degree from the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire. Nancy married Greg Lieberg in 1970 and enjoyed 48 years of marriage. She is survived by her husband Greg, daughter Michelle Lieberg, sons Brian (Shelly) Lieberg and Matthew Lieberg, grandson Chevy and great grandson Leo.  She is also survived by her mother Frances Backe, sisters Mary Lee (Ron) Magadanz, and Sue (Don) Kempen, and nieces and nephews. Nancy was preceded in death by her father Willard Backe, and her sister Jean Jore and her husband Steve.

Nancy enjoyed the comfort of seven cats during her married life.

In lieu of flowers all memorials should be directed to the Eau Claire County Humane Association.

Memorial service will take place at 1 p.m. on Thursday, August 30, 2018 at Hulke Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Eau Claire with Deacon Greg Power officiating.  Memorial visitation will take place at the funeral home on Thursday morning from 11 a.m. until the time of service. Inurnment will take place at a later date.

    Dear Lieberg Family, Was saddened of learning that Nancy had passed. All the years we worked together helps me remember her and the fun we had up at the front end at Kmart.
