Margaret "Peg" (Owen) Michels, 82, of Eau Claire passed away surrounded by her family on Saturday, June 9th, 2018.

She was born in the township of Seymour on August 17th, 1935; a daughter of Rose and Harry Owen.

She graduated from Eau Claire Senior High in 1953.

She married Tom Michels on  June 18th, 1955 at St Patrick's Church of Eau Claire.

She was a homemaker and enjoyed working as a lunch lady at various schools throughout Eau Claire.

Some of her favorite things to do were picking blueberries at the lake, trying her luck at the casino, cheering on the Packers, baking Christmas cookies with her special granddaughters and spending time with family and friends.

Peg is survived by her daughters: Cindy and Tom Berg, Kathy Michels and Gene Heisler, Shelly and Mark Collins; her grandchildren: Jen, Candace, Jesse (Amber) and Matt; her step-grandchildren: Dani (Ryan) and Dusty; her great-grandson: Henry; her sisters: Jean Christner, Judy Conrad; her brothers: Ray (Marge) Owen, Harry Owen; and many other family, friends and relatives. 

She was preceded in death by her husband Tom, her parents, her brother Jim, and many other family, friends and relatives.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 14th at St Olaf's Church of Eau Claire with Father Paul Hoffman officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. to the time of the funeral mass. A luncheon will be held after the funeral at the church. Interment will take place following the luncheon in the Holy Guardian Angels Cemetery in Brackett, Wisconsin.

    Steve and I were very sorry to hear about your mom. I hope you will be ok - it is hard to lose a parent. It is the natural order of life, but you think of them so often and just wish you could tell them something or ask a question. Mom has been gone for 10 years and I still deal with this.
    We are thinking of you.
