Rosemary E. Prissel, 90, of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, died peacefully on Friday, May 4, 2018, at Dove Healthcare Assisted Living with her family by her side.

Rosemary was born May 13, 1927, in Eau Claire to Harry and Ruth Elliott.  She graduated from St. Patrick’s High School in 1944.  She married Raymond Prissel on July 12, 1947, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Eau Claire.

Rosemary was a homemaker and stay-at-home-mom.  She was very active in the Immaculate Conception Women’s Organization, and the Eau Claire Firefighter’s Auxiliary.

She enjoyed gardening, traveling, crafts, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.  She loved her most recent home at Dove South Assisted Living, enjoying playing games, attending religious services, reading, exercise classes, crafts, and watching TV.

Rosemary is survived by her daughters Patti (Gary) Imbery, Barb McAdams, Sue (Mark) Tomasi, Mikki (Bret) Showers; 6 Grandchildren, Michael (Krissa) Rudd, Patrick (Lindsey) Rudd, Kelsey (Andrew) Heffling, Grace Tomasi, Anna Showers, and Cora Showers; 7 Great Grandchildren, Blake, Noah, Kyan, Maya, Theodore, Samuel Rudd, and Josie Heffling; brother George Elliott, Brother-in-law Steve Deinhammer; sisters in-law, Vi, Ione, Evie Prissel; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband Raymond Prissel; son, Michael Prissel; son-in-law Ken McAdams; parents Harry and Ruth Elliott; brother Jack Elliott; sister and brother-in-law Gerry and Dick Ludwikoski; parents-in-law, Edward and Anna Prissel; sister in-law Teresa Deinhammer, brothers in-law, Edmund, Dick, Clarence, Edward Prissel, Jr.

Rosemary’s family would like to thank the Mayo Clinic Health System Staff, especially Mayo Hospice, Dr. Stephen Rodgers, Dr. Joe Dolan, and the ER Department. The family would also like to extend their appreciation to the clergy and parishioners of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church for the many years of faith community in both Rosemary’s life and death.

The family requests gifts in Rosemary’s memory be designated to: MCHS-NWWI Hospice, Mayo Clinic, Department of Development, 200 First St. SW, Rochester, MN 55905 or Dove Healthcare Community Foundation, 1405 Truax Blvd., Eau Claire, WI 54703.

Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 am on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 1712 Highland Avenue, Eau Claire, WI 54701 with Father Don Meuret officiating. Visitation will take place at the church Wednesday morning from 9:30 am until the time of service.  Burial will take place in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Eau Claire immediately following the service.
