LeRoy Weiss Obituary

LeRoy James Weiss peacefully departed this life on April 16, 2024, at the age of 86, surrounded by the warmth of his loved ones. Born on January 4, 1938, on the family farm south of Cleghorn, he was the son of Frank and Julia (Brantner) Weiss. LeRoy's deep roots and familial bonds, formed during his upbringing in rural Wisconsin, shaped his character. As the youngest of eleven siblings, LeRoy was blessed with a large loving family, including nieces and nephews, whose bonds remained steadfast throughout his life.

LeRoy graduated from Regis High School in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.  On November 28, 1964, LeRoy embarked on a lifelong journey with his beloved Sue (Fleming), exchanging vows at the Holy Guardian Angel’s Church in Brackett, Wisconsin. Their marriage was a testament to enduring love, resilience, and shared values. Together, they built a home filled with love and laughter on Cedar Road, where they raised their four children.

LeRoy found joy in the simple pleasures of life, cherishing moments spent with family, friends, and neighbors. Whether celebrating holidays with extended family, ringing in the New Year with dear friends, or sharing time with the Cedar Road neighbors, he embraced each occasion with warmth and hospitality.  His days at the White Glass Company in Eau Claire were opportunities to cultivate lasting relationships with customers while managing the business with dedication and integrity.

A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, LeRoy's love knew no bounds. His unwavering affection for Sue was evident in every thoughtful gesture, their bond a shining example of strength and companionship. He delighted in sharing outdoor adventures with his children and grandchildren, from tractor rides to tending the garden ("how big is that pumpkin?") to cheering at ballgames and fostering memories that would endure a lifetime.

LeRoy delighted in playing softball with teammates twenty years his junior, playing dartball, hunting, fishing, and trips to Canada with family. He was always available to help with any project or problem.  Even amid the challenges in his later years, his caring nature endured, as he continued to inquire about the well-being of family and friends, ever eager to lend a helping hand.

In the embrace of eternity, LeRoy joins his beloved Sue, grandson Micah, his parents Frank and Julia and nine siblings, and many special relatives, leaving behind a legacy of love and resilience. He is survived by his children, Terri (Dave) Lenz, Joel (Tiffany) Weiss, Angi (Chris) Goodwin, and Josh (Jessica) Weiss, along with his grandchildren Jacob, Josie, Calvin, Carter, Tyler, Hans, Silas, Griffin and great-grandchildren Lonnie and Micah and their mother, Alese, whose lives he enriched immeasurably.  He also is survived by one brother, Roger Weiss and three sisters-in-law, Linda Holte, Ginger Fleming and Bev Weiss.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Raymond's Parish on Monday, April 29 at 11 am, to honor his memory, providing solace and closure to those who knew and loved him. A visitation will be held at the Hulke Family Funeral Home on Sunday, April 28 from 2 pm to 5 pm and one hour prior to the service at church on Monday, April 29.  Committal service will take place immediately after the service at the Holy Guardian Angels Cemetery, followed by lunch.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to St. Raymond's Parish in rural Fall Creek, a testament to LeRoy's enduring faith and community spirit.

Special gratitude is extended to Karen Horgen (Home Companions) and the staff at Heatherwood Assisted Living facility, for their compassionate care during his later years.
