Yvonne J. Buchholz Play Memorial Video

Yvonne June Buchholz was blessed with eternal rest on Saturday, November 25th, 2017. Yvonne was born on June 14, 1927 to Oswald and Lilian (Larson) Bollinger in Eau Claire, WI. She graduated from Eau Claire Senior High School with the class of 1944.

Vonnie was joined in marriage in a double ceremony with her brother Loran in 1947 to Donald Buchholz at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. Don and Vonnie resided in Eau Claire until 1972 when they moved to their new home on Lake Wissota, enjoying the beautiful view and sunsets until returning to Eau Claire in 1992.

They so enjoyed their time boating and picnicking with family and friends, and when winter rolled around, snowmobiling, traveling, and trips to the casino. If there was nothing on the calendar, they also enjoyed just jumping in the car for long drives.

Yvonne loved attending family sporting events and watching the Packers and Brewers on TV. She is fondly remembered for her sincere kindness and caring nature, always prepared to have someone stop by with desert in the refrigerator and cookies in the cookie tin, just ask the grandkids. Her biggest concern was if everyone had enough to eat, no one ever left hungry.

Along with being a wonderful wife and mother, Vonnie worked as a bookkeeper for Kerm’s Super Foods for 24 years, retiring in 1985.

Preceding her in death are her parents; brother and sister-in-law Loran and Milly Bollinger; son Dale Buchholz; sister-in-law Carol Bollinger; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Lloyd and Clara Buchholz.

She will be leaving behind, with special memories, her husband of 70 years, Donald; daughter Judith (Mike) Reetz; daughter-in-law Nona Buchholz. Brother Roger (Nancy) Bollinger. Four grandchildren, Tami (Rod) Ganther; Amber (Nate) Schurman; Nicholas Buchholz; Heather (Matt) Rasmussen. Seven great grandchildren; Brady Reetz, Gracelyn and Cody Ganther, Madeline, Michael and Jeffrey Schurman, and Michael Rasmussen, along with many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be given in Yvonne’s name to the Feed My People Food Bank, 2610 Alpine Rd, Eau Claire, WI 54703, because Yvonne always made sure friends and family were well fed.

Memorial service will take place at 12 pm (noon) on Thursday, November 30, 2017 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1314 E. Lexington Blvd., Eau Claire, WI 54701 with Pastor Peter Bredlau officiating. Memorial visitation will take place at the church Thursday morning from 11 am until the time of the service.

Vonnie was one of a kind! I adored her, I loved working with her and I loved her spunk. She was the best boss to have. I learned so much from her. God Bless. Laurie
