Darlene K. Plemon Play Memorial Video

Darlene K. Plemon, 66, of Eau Claire, WI died Saturday, May 13th, surrounded by family, at UW Medical Center in Madison, WI.

Darlene was born May 5, 1951, in Ladysmith, WI to Willard and Mary (Krizan) Mau.  She graduated from Flambeau High in 1969. After high school, Darlene attended Cosmetology school in Eau Claire where she graduated and became a beautician.  She married Dennis D. Plemon in 1978.  Together, they celebrated 38 years of marriage.

Darlene worked as a beautician for over 45 years and was employed by Expression Hair Design for the majority of her career.  Her work family and loyal customers brought excitement and joy to work-life; she truly loved her job and profession.   Darlene was also employed by Peace Lutheran as a custodian with Dennis working side-by-side for over 25 years.  Darlene and Dennis have been members of Peace Lutheran Church since 1978.  She was active in church choir, Sunday school, ladies aid; alter guild, ushering, cradle roll, women’s bible study, and card clubs. Peace Lutheran Church and all that encompass it; from its members, services, to the spiritual guidance were all a huge part of Darlene’s life.

Darlene’s big focus in life was relationships.  Having personal and meaningful relationships with anyone and everyone she came into contact with was very important to her, and it showed.  She was very positive and optimistic in everything life offered and with all people she connected with on her journey.  She could always make you smile!

Her Multiple Myeloma support group, the strong bonds and never-ending support she received continued to give her hope and purpose as she fought this disease.  She gathered strength through all of you involved. Our family will always be grateful and supportive of Multiple Myeloma research to find a cure or cause.

Darlene was preceded in death by her parents, parent-in-laws, and Mickey Plemon.  Immediate family survivors include her husband, Dennis Plemon; son David (Jennifer) Plemon and grandchildren Addison and Jackson Plemon: daughter Dana (Jason) Goodman and grandchildren Miles and Madeline Goodman; Her siblings: Delmar and Jacque Mau, Dee and Al Guthman, Dorothy and Dick Keiser.  She has many nieces and nephews, all are very close to her heart.  Family, friend and community events were always filling up her calendar and were a top priority.

A celebration of Life Service will take place at 12 pm (noon), on Saturday, May 20, 2017, at Peace Lutheran Church, 501 E. Fillmore Avenue, Eau Claire, WI 54701.  Pastor Mark Schulz will officiate. Memorial visitation will take place Saturday morning at the church from 9 am until the time of service. Visitation will continue at the church during a luncheon at the conclusion of the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family are preferred; there are a number of charities close to Darlene’s heart. Friends may offer condolences online at www.fullerspeckienhulke.com.

As a family, we thank you all for your loving support of our Wife, Mother, Sister, Aunt, Friend, Confidant, and life of the party.  Here’s to you – “Dar the Star”!

Darlene was my hairdresser for many years and we would have wonderful visits every 5-6 weeks as we shared our life stories. She loved my Guideposts magazines I'd share with her, and her deep faith in our Lord was her strength and comfort throughout her journey here on earth, especially this past year. She knew her greatest reward was yet to come.
My thoughts and prayers are with Darlene's family during this difficult time. She was truly a beautiful gift from God and cherished love one who in return cherished all who knew her. Know that she will continue to watch over you, smile down upon you and every time you think of her she will be right there with you.
    Deepest Sympathy.

To Dennis, David, Dana, and the rest of Darlene's family, our hearts and prayers are with you at this time. Darlene was our friend, as is Dennis. The two of them were our neighbors in Eau Claire. We enjoyed spending time with Dar and Dennis, because they were such a friendly couple. They came to greet us when we moved in, and they were truly interested in who we were and what we dreamed of being someday. We visited on a daily basis for nearly a year. Dar had the most optimistic, outlook on life. She was anxious for the next great thing to happen. We had that in common, that our glass was always half full. No matter how bad her day went at the hospital (getting cancer treatments), she came home believing that life is worth living, and that people are worth getting to know. We spent many hours visiting with Dar, and Dennis. She would tell us, that God works in mysterious ways, and she had hope to be with us for some time to come. We saw her a few weeks ago and had dinner together. She wasn't doing so well, but you couldn't tell by looking at her. She smiled and talked as we visited, and had a meal. It was great fun for us. We are proud to have known Dar as our friend. A lovely lady, with the kindest heart, and a spirit everlasting. We are at peace with the fact that she is in heaven, with God and all the angels. We pray for all who loved her. God Bless You Dar.

    Love Bob and Michele Mercier

Our condolences to Dennis and family.

Darlene was definitely the 'star' at any gathering. She was always smiling!

My life is so much more after having Dar in it. She set an example for all in regards to her faith, her honesty, her smile and her giggle. She was a member of our small bible group and she taught us a lot. I remember the day she told us about the cancer and with a shrug she just said I'll have faith, I'll fight and then I will surrender to the Lord. That's what she did. Love you Dar and thank you.
